10 Red: Tom
O’Callaghan put Chapelfields Colts in front following a first half corner kick
in a tight game with Christ the King. The Kings deservedly equalised midway
through the second half when Taylor McGregor scored from the edge of the goal
area. Neither side could break the other down and honours ended even at 1-1.
Finham Park Rangers and Ernesford Dynamos also shared the same score after their
first half had ended goalless. The Dynamos took the lead when Jack Dobson got
free of the Finham defence to strike a low shot past Gareth Price in the Finham
goal. Finham struck straight back as James Corrigan, Cieran McGrory and Lewis
Edwards took the ball forward only for Edwards to be fouled inside the Ernesford
penalty area. Taking the spot kick himself, he levelled the score. Despite
further pressure by the visitors, the points were shared.

the King saw all of their outfield players’ score during a 12-0 defeat of
local rivals Coundon Cockerels. The Cockerels turned around at half time
trailing by seven goals before putting on a spirited second half display forcing
Stephen Hunt in goal to save several times. Jake Wells, Charlie Owen and Thomas
Gummery scoring twice for the Kings. Athletic United took a 2-0 lead against AT7
Youth and then grabbed a third as the Youth pushed forward in an attempt to pull
a goal back themselves. The final 3-0 result reflected overall the flow of the
game. Mount Nod Highway made a slow start against Morris Rangers but once
Charlie Cook had given them the lead they took control. Lewis Power added a
second, James Chappell nodded in the third, Cook grabbed a fourth and then man
of the match, Jimmy Swain, flicked the ball over head, turned to beat two
defenders before placing the ball low into the Morris net for the fifth. Daniel
Jenkins opened the scoring for Dunlop against London Road but were pegged back
almost immediately. Ricardo Calderello restored the Dunlop lead only for the
Lions to make the score 2-2 at half time. In the second half, both teams kept
passing the ball around but it was Dunlop who went back in front as Calderello
notched his second and the 4-2 win was secured with a Thomas Parker effort in
the closing minutes. Coventry Jaguar and Coventry Sphinx enjoyed a fast flowing
game that the Sphinx edged 3-2. Aaron Jones making his return after a broken
elbow put the Jaguar in front only for the Sphinx to equalise. Two second half
strikes appeared to have made the game safe for the Sphinx but Daniel Carlyon
pulled one goal back as the Jaguar drove forward and then a header from Amman
Sarkaria was cleared off the line in a frantic finish.

the King proved too strong for Coundon Cockerels in a 6-1 win. Central defender
Joe Clough not only marshalled the Kings defence but also managed two assists as
well. Jaymie Trickett led the way with four goals, Charlton McBride netted with
a bullet header with Luke Cohen calmly hitting number five after being put
through by Clough. The ever dangerous Natasha Miles, a constant threat for the
Cockerels grabbed a well deserved consolation goal for her team. Finham Park
took the game to London Road and Sean Kirkwood netted after fifteen minutes
turning in a long throw by Aaron Manak. Despite further pressure Finham were
unable to add a second and had goalie, Benedict Poole to thank for conserving
their half time lead. In the second half, London Road were not to be denied
scoring twice for a 2-1 win although Finham came close near the end when Tom
Annett saw a header turned over the crossbar. Good sportsmanship was the order
of the day for AT7 and Brinklow. The villagers raced into a 2-0 lead but
goalkeeper M. Wilby was kept busy by the AT7 team. An own goal made it 3-0 at
half time but the Youth never gave up and pulled two goals back but just could
not grab a third.
