Under 9 Knock-Out Cup Round 1: The top two teams in the Blue division met in a very tight first round cup tie. Stephen Allen gave AT7 Youth the lead on half time but five minutes into the second half, Jamie Hackleton equalised for Whitley Juniors. With both teams having a liking for attack, it was hard to separate them but AT7 grabbed the winner five minutes from time when Ryan Mandara netted to make the final score 2-1 in favour of AT7 Youth. In contrast Dunlop Juniors Blue team entertained their Red team in an exhilarating contest. There was plenty of goal mouth action at both ends as first Kane Collins scored for the Red team and Drew Moloney levelling for the Blues shortly afterwards. With no further scoring, despite the efforts of both teams, the tie went to penalties And with Jack Laws saving the tenth spot kick, the Blue team moved into the next round at the expense of the Red side 5-4 on penalties. Coventry Sphinx Juniors grabbed a dramatic penalty shoot out success against AT7 Youth Red by 2-1 after the game finished goal less after extra time. Derry McGregor in the AT7 goal was in superb form foiling the Sphinx on several; occasions.

Under 9 Blue: Jamie Harratt provided some fine goalkeeping to prevent Chapelfields Colts from opening their account in the first half against Coventry Aquatics. William James produced a goal line clearance at the other end to deny the Aquatics. In the second half, the Chapelfields pressure told and with a fine display from man of the match, Tommy Emberson and Lewis Normoyle, two goals from Jack Sweeney gave the Colts a 2-0 win.

Under 10 Knock-Out Cup Round 1: Last years beaten cup finalists, Coventry Jaguar Youth moved smoothly into the second round as Ryan Harkin scored five times in a 9-0 defeat of Brinklow Juniors. The game took place on a superb playing surface at Newbold Revel allowing both teams to demonstrate good football. Gurpreet Singh Due (2), Robert Tressler and Joe Price also on target for the Jaguar. Jamie Bethall scored from the halfway line for Chapelfields Colts Blue as they edged out Coventry Sphinx Juniors 5-3. From being in front, the Colts slipped behind before Sam Bowdler equalised with a neat chip from the edge of the penalty area. In the second half, Jake Frost set up Andrew Seddon for the third and then Cassie Boneham added the fourth before Frost notched number five. Chapelfields Colts Red team dominated against Pinley NDC and but for the superb Pinley goalkeeper would have run away with the cup tie. Instead they had to settle for a goal in the first minute of each half to win 2-0, James Hartland scoring the first and Joe Henderson the second from a free kick that took a wicked deflection.

Under 11 Knock-Out Cup Round 1: Finishing was the difference between Binley Woods and Pinley NDC as Pinley, prompted by the in form Louis O’Connor and Priyan Lad scored a goal in each half through Jake Donovan. Meanwhile Binley Woods despite the efforts of Max Wareham, Tom Wood and Sean McBride broke down on reaching their opponents penalty area and really failed to trouble the Pinley goalkeeper.  Tom Rawlings and Tom Annett scored within a minute of each other to put Finham Park Rangers on top against Coventry Jaguar Youth. Matthew Budd then turned in a long throw in by Aaron Manak before Jaguar pulled a goal back. Another Manak throw made the score 4-1, going in off of a Jaguar defender before Ethan Hall set up Annett for his second goal just before half time. In the second half, the Jaguar battled away and deservedly scored a second goal leaving the final score 5-2 in Finham’s favour, Lewis Blacker and Mattie Graney scoring for the Jag. After an even first half, Chris O’Shea broke free to give Chapelfields Colts Red team the lead against Dunlop Juniors. He then added a headed goal at the start of the second half before completing a hat trick. Despite Dunlop’s efforts in a competitive game, they were unable to break down the stubborn Colts defence and Thomas Kirby grabbed a fourth goal for Chapelfields.

Under 11A: With the first round of the cup taking place, their was only one A division game scheduled and Christ the King through Jaymie Trickett and Luke Cohen led Brinklow Juniors 2-0 early in the second half. Two goals in two minutes from Zach Bevins and Tommy Glasscoe put the villagers right back in the game but the Kings pushed forward again with Conor Walton in prime form and despite the excellence of Matthew Wilby in the Brinklow goal, Trickett completed his hat trick for a 4-2 win for Christ the King.

Under 12A: Christ the King went in front against Whitley Juniors inside twenty seconds, O’Connor making the most of a defensive mix-up and the same player added a second just before half time. The game swung back to Whitley when Lewis Fisher scored twice in three second half minutes to level the scores and despite the Kings being unlucky to see a shot bounce off of the crossbar, Whitley Juniors ended the game on top. In a game of two half’s, Chapelfields Colts raced into a 3-0 lead against Kenilworth Town, Travis Lea-Beeston adding two superb strikes to the opening goal by Sean O’Donnell. Kenilworth then pulled a goal back just before half time. In the second half, the Town made full use of the slope and the wind to take over the game and lead 10-3 with Tom Glassok collecting a nap hand, Andy Legg and Rody Bradbury notching two apiece and James Hardie completing the score despite the heroics of Luke Cheyne in the Chapelfields goal. The Colts had the last word however when Lea-Beeston completed his hat trick to make the final result a more respectable 10-4.

Under 12C: Hawkes Mill Juniors started very lively and were soon 2-0 in front against Binley Woods. A powerful free kick by Luke Russell followed by a shot from David Pelser doing the damage. The Woods came back and Andrew Timms pulled a goal a goal back before half time. In the second period, Binley Woods were immediately on the attack and clearly hoping for a win as Paul Green equalised following a break away but with the game delicately poised a second free kick by Russell clinched a 3-2 win for the home team.

Under 14A: North Warwickshire College found Mount Nod Highway too hot to handle, going down 9-1. Although the College team battled away, Martin Cooper in goal denied Mount Nod several times before David Lipman scored a quality consolation goal with a smart turn and strike after Ross Irwin and Christopher Wilson both netted three times for the Highway.

Under 14B: A superb performance by Coundon Court enabled them to subdue a keen Rugby Town side. Martyn Stickley and Jon Tague scored goals in the first five minutes to start the ball rolling but Rugby Town struck to hit the Coundon crossbar and were denied several times by goalkeeper Kyle Jennings. Further goals from Stickley, Tague, Ryan Webb (2) and a penalty from skipper Matt Arnold gave Coundon Court their fourth successive win. Ernesford Dynamos cruised to victory, playing some superb football to outclass a hard working Rugby Town 2003. Although the Rugby ‘keeper made several good stops, Paul Friday led the way for Ernesford with a hat trick, Sam Cross scored twice with Leon Simmons, Chris Russell, Darren Bentley and Steven Sadler all scoring once.

Under 16A: Hartshill Sports and Christ the King looked like finishing goal less until the Kings were reduced to ten men and then Jason Headley and Kevin McDermott netted to earn them a 2-0 win. Despite having their chances, Hartshill were unable to break down a resolute Kings defence. Bedworth United were 4-2 in front at half time against Morris Rangers, going on to win 5-2 whilst it took three second half goals for Chetwynd to defeat Coundon Cockerels 3-0.

Under 16B: Despite losing 10-2 at Baginton Guild, Coventry Red Devils won many friends for their never say die attitude whilst White Hart Sports battled back from trailing 0-2 to level the score only for two late goals earning Bedworth Eagles a 4-2 win. Wembrook took the lead against a determined Kenilworth Town when Richard Taylor finished a neat move. He added a second after being set up by Adam Taylor. With Jaspal Kaung and Chris Gardner running the midfield, Jarinpaul Tut added two more goals before half time. In the second half, Kenilworth were much quicker in chasing down the Wembrook side and counter attacked well but Jamie Marsh in the home team goal was equal to the challenge. At the other end, Peter Bradbury was equally busy, making life difficult for the Wembrook strikers but he was finally beaten by a Tut lob and a drive from Anton Pearson to make the final score 6-0 to Wembrook. An industrious Ernesford Dynamos bought the good start to the season by Chapelfields Colts to an abrupt end.  First half goals from Jon Griffiths and Liam Hayward put the Dynamos in control and even an own goal could not dent their endeavour. In the second half, Chapelfields failed to make headway and the score remained 2-1 to Ernesford.

Under 18 Red: A poor performance against Castlehurst Colts bought Hillmorton down to earth. After a scrappy start, Castlehurst went 2-0 in front, capitalising on defensive errors. Another mistake allowed Castlehurst to make it 3-0 before Hillmorton began to rally and although creating several opportunities themselves, they had to settle for just one goal scored by Richard Smith. Steve Pitt, Rob Gardner and David Maddox netting for Castlehurst Colts.

Under 18 Blue: A scorching twenty-five yard free kick by Tom Bailey was the highlight of a 5-1 win for Finham Park Rangers in a scrappy game with Whitley Juniors. Bailey added a second, James Waggitt scored twice as well with Richard Sutherland netting the other goal and Kevin Bulger scoring the Whitley consolation.  Geddes Murray and David Williams put Cannon Park Colts on the up against Chapelfields Colts before Chapelfields struck back to win 4-2, Mitchell Walters, Sam Thompson, Nathan Watts and Leigh Davidson scoring for the visitors.

Bedworth Nursing Cup Under 12: In a well-contested cup-tie, Coventry Jaguar Youth saw off the challenge of Bedworth Rangers 6-0. Dale Sawyer gave them the lead with a fierce shot, quickly added to by Paddy Ryan. Lewis Poyser then ran the length of the field before rounding the Rangers goalkeeper to make the score 3-0. A goal straight from the second half restart by Sammy Franks meant there was no way back for Bedworth despite all of their efforts before the final two goals came from man of the match Paddy Ryan.
