Birmingham County FA Sunday Youth Cup Round 2: It was a great cup tie between Chapelfields Colts and Hillmorton as the Rugby side saw Andy Bacon net twice in the opening four minutes. The Colts struck back to level the scores only for Eric Telford to put Hillmorton back in front before Chapelfields made it 3-3 right on the half time whistle. There was no further scoring in the game, which went to extra time and penalties before Hillmorton won through 7-5 on spot kicks.

Birmingham County Sunday Minor Cup Round 2: The Sphinx could only field ten players against Kenilworth Wardens and in the second half this was reduced to nine when Chris McGowan went off injured. By then they were trailing 0–2 to their hosts but a superb performance saw Stephen Kingham scoring with a free kick from the edge of the area and then from the penalty spot to take the tie into extra time. With no further goals to be had the tie was settled on penalties with the Sphinx edging it 4-3 to move into the third round.

Under 9 Red: AT7 and Coventry Sphinx put together an entertaining game in which two first half goals for Ricky Fletcher and a third from Aidan Muras early in the second half, all following corner kicks, helped AT7 to a 4-1 success. Sean Kirwan pulled one back for the Sphinx before Reece Tonner wrapped up the scoring.

Under 9 Blue: Daniel Read netted a superb hat trick to help London Road to a 4-1 win against a hard working Coventry Jaguar. Fine defence by Dominic Grainger and Kieran McFadden restricted Jaguar to a single goal scored by Andrew Hart with Aaron Beard scoring the Lions fourth. Chapelfields and Whitley swung the play from end to end after the opening exchanges produced goals from the penalty spot for both teams as the game ended 2-2. Sam Brown superbly set up Drew Moloney for the opening goal as Dunlop Juniors defeated Coventry Aquatics 2-0 and then Lewis Chester made sure of the points with an excellent finish after running the ball at his opponents.

Under 10 Knock-Out Cup Round 2: Chapelfields Colts Reds eased through to the next round after a comfortable win over a brave Mount Nod Highway (Green) team. After James Hartland had opened the scoring, it was one way traffic as Bradley Teggin and Joe Henderson both scored four times and Tom O’Callaghan bagged a hat trick. Finham Park Rangers (Green) had a flying start against Dunlop Juniors (Blue) when Andrew Scott, Chas Mulhall and Cameron Rennie all set up chances for William Vines to grab a hat trick. Dunlop pulled their game together but Glenn Robinson added a fourth for Finham before Ricardo Calderello grabbed a goal for the Dunlop. As Dunlop pressured Finham, a quick break allowed Robinson in to score his second goal to complete a 5-1 win for Finham. Christ the King Blue took the Finham Red team to extra time after Lewis Edwards had given the home side the lead, heading in a corner kick by James Corrigan. The Kings equalized, also from a corner when Jake Wells scored. In extra time George Davison scored twice to Finham on top before supplying the cross for Kieran McGrory to score the final goal in a 4-1 win. Declan Corcoran and Jordan Deehan combined to set up Corcoran for the first goal in London Roads 2-1 success over Keresley Colts. Keresley equalised with a bullet headed goal before a good run by Ashley Ilston put in Joshua Bird to score the winning goal for the Lions. A much improved Leamington Hibernians were still no match for Coventry Jaguar in a torrential downpour, the visitors winning 8-0. After a scrappy first half, The Boat went on to get the better of Athletic United Green 3-0 after second half substitute Declan McCann took control of the midfield, setting up Joss Selby for the first goal.  Charlie Cook scored four times as Mount Nod Blues hit Finham Park Colts 6-0. A first half brace from Corey Carpenter supported by the same from Ben O’Hara helped put Caludon into the next round with a 6-1 win over Wyken Colts.

Under 10 Blue: London Road matched Coventry Jaguar during the first half but a five goal performance by Aaron Jones left them trailing as twins Reece and Jack Simpson were also on target.

Under 10 Green: Pro Santos and Ernesford Dynamos shared the points in heavy conditions. The Dynamos went in front through Luke Thompson but with George Swaffield solid in the Santos goal, Alex Johnson and Oliver Koczkowski got to grips in midfield as Pro Santos went on the offensive. The 1-1 draw came in the last few minutes when Jack Scandrett scored for Pro Santos after a goalmouth scramble.

Under 11A: Jake Holt put Dunlop in front at Finham after coping with early pressure but Rhys Burton put the scores level before half time as the teams shared the points. Joe Clough opened his account with a brace as Christ the King defeated Binley Woods 7-0, Liam Brown also scoring twice. Superb PR by referee Trevor Hargrave kept both teams and parents informed of the situation after an ambulance was called to take Jake McIlwaine of Wyken to hospital after he was injured against Chapelfields Colts. After the game restarted, the Colts went on to win 4-1, Brendan Sharp scoring twice.

Under 12 Knock-Out Cup Round 2: Chapelfields Colts won an exciting tie with Longford Community. Jacob Blackwell first put the Colts ahead and then levelled the score at 2-2 when they fell behind. Luke Cheyne saved a second half penalty before Sean O’Donnell scored twice to set up a 4-2 win for the Colts.

Under 13A: A sticky pitch allowed little goalmouth action in the first half for St. Nicolas’ and Christ the King. Led by an impressive Lee Chapman, the Kings went 2-0 in front in the second period thanks to Shaun Gaffney and George Mumford but with Simon Rawbone netting for St. Nicolas’, a close finish to the game was ensured.

Under 13B: Ernesford Dynamos and Rugby Town (2002) put together an entertaining display that was level pegging 2-2 at half time. In the second half, the Dynamos slipped out of contention as Rugby scored three more goals to win 5-2, Max Beard notching a hat trick. After Darren Batchelor opened the scoring for Christ the King Rovers, the goals flowed for the Kings despite the best efforts of a hard-pressed Coventry Jaguar who battled to the end. Ollie Marresse and Daniel Crofts both netted hat tricks in the Kings 12-0 win.

Under 14 Knock-Out Cup Round 2: Finham Park Rangers won a pulsating cup-tie against Coundon Court. Starting much the better, Finham raced into a 4-0 interval lead but were pegged back as Coundon Court struck back in the second half. Two goals apiece for Rich Nelmes and Ryan Webb levelled the scores and took the tie into extra time, although Kyle Jillings in the Coundon goal was kept busy. Finham went 6-4 in front during extra time and although Martyn Stickley made it 6-5, Coundon went down fighting. An end-to-end cup-tie needed extra time to decide that Firefighters moved forward at the expense of Rugby Town (2002). After Ricky Handley put Firefighters ahead, a last minute penalty kick by Ryan Cashmore levelled the score before Handley notched his second goal to give Firefighters a 2-1 win.

Under 14A: After a scoreless first half, Norton Lindsey went in front, pouncing on a rebound after Martin Cooper in the College goal had made a superb stop. Straight from the re-start, Nick Holt in the village goal parried a shot from Blain Shepherd but Michael Smith was on hand to tuck the loose ball away for the equaliser. After that Norton Lindsey took command and scored three more times to claim a 4-1 victory.

Under 14B: An unfortunate injury to the Rugby Town goalkeeper swung the game in favour of Ernesford Dynamos. With the game level at 3-3, the Dynamos went on to win 5-3, Steven Sadler scoring twice.
